Volunteering at the Manor 1 of 3

1. Volunteering at the 'Manor'

Volunteers at Eton Manor are hugely important and greatly appreciated as they are the absolute backbone of our clubs’ existence by leading, supporting & developing it and the rugby within our club and our wider community.

Successful rugby clubs are more than just what happens on the pitch. Players and coaches are vitally important but so are the many dedicated volunteers who work hard behind the scenes to help our club function.

Imagine if every one of our adult members did a little bit towards the running of the club, what a place it could be?!

While the benefits of volunteering are specific to each individual, the inclusive environment of ‘the Manor’ is a rewarding place to be for people with all kinds of skills.

What sort of skills and attributes are needed?
Enthusiasm is the key. As long as you have that you will be welcomed with open arms. Whether you can feed the players, raise vital funds, improve facilities, promote the club, our take on a key/golden role, our club will be lucky to have your help.

What sort of volunteering opportunities are available?
There are a whole host of specific roles at the club. While there are often no absolute definitions of these roles, our roles listing page gives a broad idea of some of the positions. You don’t even need to hold a position – there are often one-off events or activities that need your help and support. Making yourself available when the call goes out is valued greatly.

What time commitment is involved?
Volunteering can take up as much or as little of your time as you want, but it is useful to agree some informal terms of reference with the club to ensure you are used effectively.

What do I do next?
If you are volunteering for a ‘Club’ role please speak to any of the Executive Committee members or send your details and the role that you are interested in by email to vacancies@etonmanor.net.

If you are volunteering for a role in an age group, then please let the Team Manager /Administrator know you are interested in helping out. Once your offer of help has been accepted, the clubs Safeguarding team (Child Welfare) will take over and get you ready to officially volunteer.

All volunteers will be asked to complete and submit a Volunteer Form (VF).
