Despite several changes to the side due to international call ups, Eton Manor 1stXV managed to find a way to win against a resolute Chelmsford RFC last Saturday. In the end, yet another stern defensive performance and a solid offensive scrum chocking out a penalty try in the last few minutes of the game was enough to see us through. 18 Year old hooker Nodari Gorgidze, the son of former Georgia U20 international player Irakli Gorgidze made an excellent 1stXV debut and Manors granite inside centre Conrad Edgar scored Manors only try and also picked up the Man of the Match award, Fly half Lloyd Davies picked up another 8 points from the boot, taking his seasons points tally to 88.
In our only home fixture of the weekend, Manor 2ndXV welcomed Essex based Brentwood II's to Nutter Lane. Yet again Manor proving far too powerful for Brentwood and secured a very comfortable 53-0 win. Manor 2ndXV are yet to loose in Essex Merit Premiership Division this season. In a notable performance for three of our former colts from last season, scrum half Sean O'Connell scored a very impressive hat trick and Tight Head Prop Wylde Tulip made his 2ndXV debut.
Manor IIIs took a slightly depleted side over to Romford & Gidea Park RFC to play their 2nd XV, in a well played, even contested match, they eventually lost 17-7.
Next Saturday Manor 1stXV host 3rd placed HAC RFC in round 10 of the London Regional 2 Anglia League, Its the tightest league in a number of years and we will need your support to push the boys on, lets make sure we fill our stand to the rafters and turn up the volume!
