Dear Club Members,
We have recently concluded a deal to rent out part of the club car park, external changing rooms, and club house to a film company during the week (Monday to Friday) from Friday November 5th to Friday December 10th.
The film is being directed by Leo Leigh, son of the legendary Mike Leigh.
This deal will raise a decent revenue for the club with minimal disruption to our activities. Weekend rugby and our midweek training will not be affected.
As mentioned above, access to the club at weekends is not affected. However, we have agreed that the film crew can have primary access to the club house from 07.00 to 19.00 during the week, Monday to Friday.
In addition, they will be parking several vehicles in the car park during the day, Monday to Friday, and a small number (c 3) overnight and over the weekends.
Filming will take place in and around Wanstead and East London – we are primarily a production base. There may however be a small number of opportunities for “extras”. We have already been asked for a motor bike rider and some photos for a mock-up dating site, that features in the film. The film also involves a referee, and I am trying to persuade them to use Rugby, not football, so we may get a chance to do a mock game. I am polishing my very old boots just on case….
