The club are saddened to hear of the recent passing of old club member Alan Mitchell. He joined Manor at the beginning of the 1950’s as a 14 year boy and represented the club at table tennis, gymnastics and rugby. After completing his National Service he returned to the club in 1956 where he continued to play rugby until the early 1970’s. Our very own Past President Terry Burton remembers him as third team captain who gave Terry his very first game of senior rugby. After retiring from sport he kept in contact with Dicky Franklin, Kenny Boardman and many other old Manor boys. He eventually moved to Devon to enjoy his retirement but always kept in touch with the club he loved. Alan's life will be celebrated at the East Devon Crematorium on Thursday 6th April 2023 at 12:15, near to his home on Feniton, Devon. Donations in his memory can be made to the RNLI at Alan's request . If club members who knew Allan can remember him on Thursday I know it will be apricated by his family, who the club send their deepest condolences to.
