First league game of the season, a novice referee, boiling hot weather, a very unfit team, playing a fit young team...... It's good to be back. There's not many good things to talk about in this game apart from our solid scrumming, secure lineouts (Eugene had a big game), driving mauls and defending. We scored two tries, one from Sean Bradley from a driving maul and a burst down the blindside and one from Willie Nash who took the short route through the middle of a ruck and run in unopposed. Their only score was from a dubious penalty try. Hopefully next week (Brentwood at home) the sides will be even and we can play an old, fat team who can't get round the field.
