Paul Sims memorial match

A nice cool September morning( for a change) for this memorial match between 2 local clubs. Current and ex players from both teams were involved in the game and encouraged by Jeff Minns ( EMC RFC coach) to have a ferocious game . A good match it turned out to be , one Paul would have enjoyed . There were nine tries by EM with some of them starting from beyond half way. The support EM showed to the ball carrier was excellent . The passing was good at times , an inside flick pass from Nye to Henry a highlight. Woodford played well but were overwhelmed by EM , particularly in the second quarter . Apart from 2 tip tackles that lead to the players being binned. EM defended well with Woodford unable to score during the match. A gear tackling by Callum Hibberd on the Woodford No. 8 showed EM ment business. A great game , one enjoyed by all.
