Friendly in essex

With only 14 players for the away game to Malden RFC , EM started slowly..... Within 10 minutes the boys were 24-0 down and staring down the barrel of a potential heavy defeat. Within 15 minutes though , EM had reduced the deficit to 24-19 with some good running rugby. Game on !

The second half started in a similar vein with both teams scoring tries. After 10 minutes an injury to the EM fullback ( David ) meant EM played the last 20 minutes 13 vs 15. Malden kept up the pace but great defence by EM kept the tries conceded in the second half to 3.

With inside balls and dummie runners , Dan Davey ran the show in the second half from number 10. A good solo try and 6/8 goal kicks capped a great game for Dan and all the boys who ran out winners 52-43.
