An Ugly Win.

This fixture against Wanstead U12s was always going to be a difficult one for the boys to mentally prepare themselves for. An opposition that we had soundly beaten only a couple of weeks earlier required the correct attitude from the team and, unfortunately, we didn't rise to the occassion.
Although the win was achieved, it was not an inspiring performance from the players. We went in with the belief that we were going to easily overcome Wanstead and found ourselves in a contest with a team that gradually gained in confidence as we failed to perform.
The score flatters our performance and in some aspects of the game Wanstead were to be commended on their tenacity and resistance.
We played several players in positions that were unfamiliar but this is not an excuse. Let's put this one behind us now an perpare for future matches.
