Manor U13's win their first league game

The last time Manor and Upminster met was in the pool stages of the U12's Essex Cup and the result was a hard fought and very fair 0 - 0 draw, so all knew that this first league match was going to be a very close match.

First Half:
If the parents were nervous the boys from both teams certainly weren't as both sides started with confidence. The first ten minutes were like an arm wrestle with both teams test the other, till Tyrell finally broke the deadlock with a try. Manor 5 v 0 Upminster. Un-fazed by the try both teams once again tested each other, attack met by solid defense. manor increased their lead from a try by Morgan and a conversion by Max. Manor 12 v 0 Upminster. With only a few minutes till half time the Manor parents were happy to think they had a 12 point lead, unfortunately the Upminster players has other thoughts; as in the dying seconds the scored a well deserved try and conversion. Manor 12 v 7 Upminster, game on.

Second Half:
The second half started as tense as the first, but a try from Max S eased the pressure and the heart rates of the Manor parents, a conversion by Eoin now made the score Manor 19 v 7 Upminster. After some intense pressure Upminster responded with a try Manor 19 v 12 Upminster which all meant for a very tense fianl few minutes. Upminster attacked the manor try line, but thankfully the boys defended well and to the releive of all the refereee finally blew up. Final score Manor 19 v 12 Upminster.

Well done to both teams and a great start to Manor's first junior season.
